Chandigarh, April 28 (Ozi news desk): The Divisional Commissioner of Rohtak, Sanjeev Verma, has lodged a formal complaint against the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Printing and Stationary, Ashok Khemka. Verma alleges that Khemka criticized the state government and targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, while the model code of conduct was in effect.
The complaint, dated April 26, was addressed to the Chief Secretary and highlighted Khemka’s questioning of the ‘ruler’ (PM) in relation to the Dhingra Commission’s investigation into the Robert Vadra-DLF deal. Khemka’s tweet, posted on April 6, expressed concerns about the slow progress of the investigation and raised questions about the ruler’s intentions.
Verma emphasized that Khemka’s social media post was particularly concerning as it coincided with the announcement of Lok Sabha elections by the Election Commission of India, with elections in Haryana scheduled for May 25. He stated that such messages from a government official during an election period could incite controversy, animosity, and hatred among the electorate, thereby violating the model code of conduct and potentially leading to legal consequences under relevant sections of the law.
