Ottawa, April 29 (Ozi news desk): During the Khalsa Day Celebrations in Toronto, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the Sikh community and emphasized the importance of diversity in Canada. He stated that Canada’s strength lies in its differences, not in spite of them. Trudeau assured the Sikh community that their values are Canadian values and that the government is committed to protecting their rights and freedom. He also mentioned that the country is taking steps to enhance security and infrastructure at community centers and places of worship, including gurdwaras. Trudeau emphasized that the right to practice religion freely and without intimidation is a fundamental right guaranteed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the government will always defend and support the Sikh community in upholding this right.
