“हरियाणा सरकार का बड़ा फैसला”The Haryana government has implemented the ‘Grant Provision for Horticultural Crop Cultivation’ scheme to promote horticulture in the state and increase farmers’ income. A spokesperson for the Horticulture Department, Haryana, while providing detailed information in this regard, stated that the government is providing heavy subsidies to the farmers of the state for cultivating fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, and aromatic plants. Under this scheme, application and grant limits have also been determined, according to which a maximum benefit for up to 5 acres can be availed for establishing new fruit orchards and cultivating spices. Meanwhile, for vegetable cultivation, general category farmers can avail benefits up to a maximum of 5 acres and scheduled category farmers up to 1 acre, whereas for flowers and aromatic plants, this limit is set at up to 5 acres. Elaborating further on the grant amount, the spokesperson informed that farmers will be given a grant ranging from ₹24,500 to ₹1,40,000 per acre for establishing new orchards. For vegetable cultivation, a grant will be provided at the rate of ₹15,000 per acre for the general category and ₹25,500 per acre for the scheduled category, which will be payable only upon adopting integrated models such as mulching, low tunnels, drip, or bamboo staking. Similarly, a grant provision of ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 per acre has been made for spice cultivation, ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 per acre for flower farming, and ₹8,000 per acre for aromatic plants. To ensure transparency, the entire grant amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiary farmer’s bank account. The spokesperson further added that to avail the benefits of the scheme, registration on the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Biyora’ portal and ‘Hortnet’ is mandatory. Along with this, applicants must possess personal details, Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra), complete bank account details (account number, bank name, branch, and IFSC code), and a caste certificate for the scheduled category if required. Appealing to all interested farmers in the state to make maximum use of this scheme, he stated that for detailed information, farmers can contact their respective District Horticulture Officer or call the toll-free number 1800-180-2021. SLSVIH/2026 Awareness on Breastfeeding: Women and Child Development Department Issues Special Guidelines for Optimal Health of Mother and Child Chandigarh, September 28 – A special ‘Breastfeeding Awareness’ campaign is being conducted by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Haryana, with the objective of promoting better health and nutrition for newborns and mothers. Providing information in this regard, a departmental spokesperson stated that mother’s milk is a child’s first vaccine, first meal, and first love, which plays a vital role in the overall development of the child. He mentioned that breastfeeding is beneficial not only for the child but also for the mother’s health. Highlighting the benefits to the mother, he said that breastfeeding helps the uterus return to its normal size faster, reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer, assists in weight loss, and strengthens the emotional bond between mother and child. Furthermore, it is also economically helpful, as mother’s milk is always clean, safe, and easily available. Mentioning its benefits for the child, he shared that it provides natural immunity to protect the child from diseases, aids in brain development, and offers every nutrient in the required proportion. It is easily digestible, reducing the risk of allergies, diarrhea, and infections, and is always available as a safe and ready meal. The spokesperson shared detailed guidelines regarding when and how breastfeeding should be done. He stated that breastfeeding should be initiated immediately after birth, i.e., within one hour. After this, the baby should be fed exclusively mother’s milk for the first 6 months. Upon completing 6 months, breastfeeding should be continued alongside the introduction of adequate complementary foods, and can be sustained until the child is 2 years of age or older. Offering essential advice for breastfeeding mothers, the spokesperson said that mothers themselves should consume clean, nutritious food and plenty of fluids. Along with this, taking complete rest, staying away from smoking, alcohol, or any substance abuse, and washing hands thoroughly before breastfeeding are crucial. He also appealed to family members to provide full support and encouragement to breastfeeding mothers. Delivering the message, “Mother’s milk is priceless — adopt it, secure the child’s future,” the spokesperson stated that for any assistance or information, one can contact the Women Helpline number 181 or the Child Helpline number 1098. Slamming the Aam Adami Party (AAP) for wrongly blaming the Punjab farmers for Delhi pollution, Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister, Gurkirat Singh, on Monday said that Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government has  indulged in the blame game to save it’s own skin as it has completely failed to control pollution in the national capital.

Mr. Gurkirat Singh, who was the Chief Guest at Punjab Day Function held during the ongoing India International Trade Fair 2021 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, also urged the Central Government for reopening of Kartarpur Corridor, which has been closed since March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Talking on industrial growth in Punjab, the Cabinet Minister said that the state government had taken several path breaking steps for creating ease of doing business and ensuring stable growth of the industrial sector in Punjab.

He said that the Congress led Punjab Government has brought investment of over Rs 1 lakh crores in the state, which not only given the much needed boost to the economy but also generated employment.

The minister said that the Punjab Government has recently organised a two-days Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit on October 26 & 27, during which renowned Industrialists reiterated to further invest in the Punjab to expand their businesses.

He said the Punjab Government has set up Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion as the single point of contact for facilitation of investors. The new industrial policy with detailed schemes and operational guidelines was implemented with a sole motive of becoming the no. 1 destination for investors and business in the country. The new policy covers extensive reforms focusing on 8 key strategic pillars of change including infrastructure, power, skill, MSMEs, startup & entrepreneurship, ease of doing business, fiscal & non-fiscal incentives and policy.

Mr. Gurkirat Singh further revealed that the Invest Punjab has launched a Business First Portal (pbindustries.gov.in) having a Single Window Portal system for granting regulatory approvals including construction permits, fiscal incentives, online property data online including payment of property tax and online land allotment through e-Auction. Central inspection system has been implemented for the Department of labour, Commercial courts have been set up in Ludhiana for quick resolution of disputes.

“With the presence of core infrastructures and great emphasis laid by the State of Punjab making it a most suitable place for investors, Punjab state has a very high literacy and the land is very fertile. Punjab State has one of the best connectivity in India. The key features of special single window facility for existing industries/MSME’s to be setup at the District level, quality power at an affordable fixed tariff of Rs. 5 per Unit (Fixed for next five years) are attractive for the new investors” added the Minister.

The Chief Guest took a round of Punjab Pavillion which has been designed and decorated in consonance with the theme of IITF 2021 i.e. “Atmanirbhar Bharat- Self Reliant India”. The façade concept, grand entrance, attraction of theme area of display depicted the measures taken by Punjab government for Ease of Doing Business.

The theme area of Punjab Pavillion has been designed showcasing the growth of industry with the world class facilities provided by the Punjab Government. Verka products at the display stall of the Milkfed and Punjabi Phulkari at the stall of PSIEC were the top most attraction. MARKFED depicted their more than100 products which attracted the visitors. The Department of Science & Technology through Punjab Biotechnology Incubator, Punjab Energy Development Authority, Punjab Tourism, Punjab Agro Industries Corporation and Punjab Agriculture University and GADVASU etc. were added centre of attraction for visitors.

A cultural evening on the occasion was organized at Amphi theatre. Proceedings were started by lightening of lamp by the Chief Guest.  Mr. Tejvir Singh, Prinicipal Secretery, Industries and Commerce, Punjab, Mr. Kumar Amit, Managing Director, PSIEC and Mr. J. S. Randhawa , Administrator Punjab Pavillion and Gurpreet Singh, Co-ordinator Punjab Pavilion along with other eminent guests were present on the occasion.

Renowned Punjabi Singer Lakhwinder Wadali and  Kulwinder Billa entertained the audience with their voice by singing popular songs. The audience swayed with the pulsating rhythm of the Punjabi folklore.
