Chandigarh, 25 February (ozi news desk): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bathinda, Punjab, to enhance tertiary health care in the Malwa region. Additionally, he will dedicate the 300-bed Satellite Centre of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Sangrur and lay the foundation stone for the 100-bed satellite centre in Ferozepur.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the New Mundra-Panipat pipeline project, valued at over Rs 9,000 crore, which will transport crude oil from Mundra to Panipat. Furthermore, he will inaugurate the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy in Jhajjar, Haryana, providing advanced research facilities in these fields.
These initiatives aim to address healthcare disparities by providing comprehensive and affordable tertiary care services to the people of Punjab and neighboring states. The satellite centres will extend services to underserved populations in remote areas through community outreach programs and digital healthcare infrastructure.
