Chandigarh, May 5 (Ozi news desk): Voters in Haryana turned out early to cast their votes in the Lok Sabha constituencies and the by-election to the Karnal Assembly seat. In the first four hours of polling, Haryana recorded a voter turnout of 22.09%. Over two crore voters are eligible to vote and decide the fate of 223 candidates, including former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, two Union ministers, and Congress stalwart Kumari Selja. Khattar and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini were among the first to cast their votes. There are 207 male and 16 female candidates contesting for the Lok Sabha seats. Haryana has a total of 2,00,76,768 registered voters, including 94,23,956 women and 467 transgender voters. The election is primarily a contest between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress, although some seats like Hisar have multiple contenders.
