पंजाब के पूर्व डी. जी. पी. मुहम्मद मुस्तफा और पंजाब की कैबिनेट मंत्री रज़िया सुलताना की बहु जैनब को अख्तर पंजाब सरकार की तरफ से बड़ी ज़िम्मेदारी दी गई है। जैनब अख्तर को पंजाब वकफ़ बोर्ड की नयी चेअरपरसन बनाया गया है। यहाँ यह भी बताने योग्य है कि जैनब अख्तर के वकफ़ बोर्ड की नयी चेअरपरसन बनने को ले कर पहले से चरचा चलतीं रही हैं।
