(Ozi News Desk), 6 Dec,2024

Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, asserted on Friday that the influence of Muhammad Ali Jinnah continues to resonate in Bangladesh, suggesting that the ongoing violence against the Hindu community in that nation can be traced back to Jinnah’s enduring legacy. His remarks highlight a perceived connection between historical figures and contemporary issues, particularly in the context of communal tensions.

The recent surge in violence against Hindus in Bangladesh has been linked to political upheaval, notably following the removal of the Sheikh Hasina-led government amid student protests in August. Reports indicate that this unrest has resulted in the vandalism of numerous Hindu temples and businesses, alongside threats directed at individuals for expressing their cultural identity. Such incidents reflect a broader pattern of discrimination and violence faced by minority communities in the region.

Adityanath emphasized the severity of the situation, stating that Hindus in Bangladesh are experiencing attacks, with their homes being looted and set on fire. He posed a rhetorical question regarding the origins of this turmoil, asserting that as long as Jinnah’s “soul” remains influential in Bangladesh, the cycle of atrocities against Hindus is likely to persist. This statement underscores the complex interplay between historical narratives and current socio-political dynamics in South Asia.
