World Sikh Council holds Gurmat education camp to connect children with Sikh heritage

Kotkapura April 25, 2025 : In a significant initiative to connect children with Gurmat teachings and Sikh religious heritage, the World Sikh Council on has organized one-day Gurmat education camp at village Dheeman Wali in Faridkot district under the leadership of Panch Pradhani (Five Singhs).
More than 500 children from 15 nearby villages enthusiastically participated in the event, which focused on instilling Sikh values, historical knowledge and cultural pride among the younger generation.
The camp featured a written test on Sikh history, a quiz competition based on Gurmat knowledge and traditional indigenous games. In addition to this, children also recited poems and read essays highlighting the Sikh legacy and values.

 


Prominent personalities including Bhai Makhan Singh Sangrur, Bhai Pippal Singh Sri Damdama Sahib and other religious scholars shared their inspiring thoughts with the participants. Addressing the Sangat, the Five Singhs urged parents to actively connect their children with Gurmat education and Sikh heritage.
As a mark of appreciation, all participating children and supporters were honoured with medals, shields and sets of religious books. The martial arts team from village Dheeman Wali also presented a captivating Gatka demonstration showcasing the richness of Sikh martial tradition.
Towards the end of the program, heartfelt thanks were extended to the local Sangat of Dheeman Wali, Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Seva Society, Gurmat Parchaar Jatha Salina district Moga, Gurmat Parchaar Jatha Talwandi Dasoundha Singh district Sri Amritsar Sahib and all other supportive organizations.
Prominent attendees included Bhai Balkar Singh Ferozepur, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Zira, Bhai Sham Singh Moga, Dr. Pippal Singh Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bhai Balwinder Singh Dheeman Wali, along with a large number of sangat and parents from various villages.
