Chandigarh, June 15:

Two cadets of the Government of Punjab run Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) of the 8th Course brought laurels to the state after they successfully made it to the Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers.

Both the cadets of the AFPI were commissioned as officers in the Indian Air Force after the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) held at Air Force Academy, Dundigal in Hyderbad, on Saturday. The Parade was reviewed by Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC.

Flying Officer Kanwarnoor Singh, who hails from Tarn Taran, will be joining the Flying Branch as a Fighter Pilot, while Flying Officer Anish Pandey, who belongs to Amritsar, will be joining the Flying Branch as a helicopter Pilot.

Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr Aman Arora congratulated both the Cadets on becoming Officers in the Indian Air Force and wished them the best in service.

With the commissioning of these cadets, he further informed, as many as 160 Alumni of the prestigious Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI, have been commissioned in various wings of the Armed Forces of India to include 21 officers in Indian Air Force, 121 officers in Indian Army and 18 officer in Indian Navy. In addition to this, 69 Alumni are undergoing training for commissioning in the three services, he added.

Congratulating the cadets on their commissioning, Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM, Director General of Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI called upon them to be true representatives of the Institute and make the Nation proud as true sons of the State of Punjab.
