Chandigarh, 27-05-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)- Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department and Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University (MHU), Karnal Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Horticulture College of MHU, Visited Anjanthali.
Mr. Sudhir Rajpal inspected the hi-tech poly house, shade net house and retractable poly house constructed in MHU. Seen work on hybrid seed production of okra and ghee. It was also asked that till when these seeds can be made available to the farmers. He asked the scientists to speed up the research work so that the latest technology can reach the farmers, which proves to be economically beneficial for the farmers. Increase in farmers’ income.
The Vice-Chancellor took information from the Director of Research about the ongoing research activities in the University. He said that four labs have been established in the university, including Seed Infra Lab, Bio Control Lab, Quality Control Lab and Tissue Culture Lab. Research work is going on in Bio Control Lab.
He also inquired about the educational activities of the college. About 70 students have been admitted in Udan Mahavidyalaya, the third batch is going on. These include MSc and PhD students, whose number is around 27 and so far 23 MSc and 6 PhD have passed.
