Vantara, the animal rescue and rehabilitation initiative established by the Reliance Foundation in Jamnagar, Gujarat, expressed its approval of the findings released by the special investigation team (SIT) appointed by the Supreme Court to examine allegations concerning illegal animal procurement, mistreatment in captivity, and financial misconduct. In an official statement, Vantara emphasized that the SIT’s report unequivocally demonstrated that the “doubts and allegations” against the organization were unfounded. The organization conveyed that the validation of their integrity by the esteemed members of the SIT not only provided relief to the Vantara team but also served as a testament to their mission, allowing their efforts to be recognized for their inherent value. Furthermore, Vantara articulated that the SIT’s conclusions would bolster their resolve and motivation to continue their dedicated service to voiceless animals and birds, reinforcing their commitment to compassion and care. The organization reiterated its foundational principles of love, responsibility, and compassion towards all living beings, asserting that the welfare of animals is intrinsically linked to the broader well-being of humanity. Vantara also reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with both central and state governments, as well as other stakeholders in the realm of animal welfare, expressing a collective aspiration to enhance the quality of life for all creatures on Earth. Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court’s SIT officially cleared Vantara of any wrongdoing, with Justices Pankaj Mithal and PB Varale acknowledging the team’s satisfaction with Vantara’s adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.
