Canadian police may soon arrest two men suspected of killing pro-Khalistan Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijhar in June. It is being told that both are still in Canada. Nijhar was shot and killed in British Columbia province in June. According to The Globe and Mail, the police are currently monitoring the suspects and hope to catch them within a few weeks. The newspaper has quoted sources as saying that after Nijhar’s murder, the two masked killers have not left Canada and the police have been keeping an eye on them for several months. In September, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged the possible involvement of Indian agents in the June 18 killing of Khalistani supporter Hardeep Singh Nijhar, 45, outside a Gurdwara in the city of Surrey. After this, the tension between the two countries increased. India declared Nijhar a terrorist in 2020.
