Seven police officers from Punjab, including two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), have been suspended following allegations that they facilitated a television interview with notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi while he was in custody at the Kharar CIA station. Lawrence Bishnoi is a key suspect in the high-profile case involving singer Sidhu Moosewala and is also implicated as a conspirator in the murder of Baba Siddique in Mumbai. Furthermore, the Canadian government has accused him of being involved in the murder of Hardeep Nijjar in June 2023, labeling him as an “agent of India.” The suspension orders were officially issued by the Home Department of Punjab on Friday, affecting DSPs Gursher Singh Sandhu and Sammer Vaneet, among others.
