Anjana Om Kashyap, a senior journalist at Aaj Tak, is facing backlash due to her channel’s erroneous report regarding the death of Bollywood icon Dharmendra. The news was swiftly refuted by Dharmendra’s family, leading to a wave of criticism and trolling across social media platforms.
The situation escalated alarmingly when fabricated posts and videos alleging the death of Anjana Om Kashyap began to spread across social media. One particularly viral clip depicted an individual grieving in front of her poster, which was draped with a funeral garland. While some users engaged in the mockery, others criticized the behavior, emphasizing that two wrongs do not justify a right.
Dharmendra’s family, which includes Hema Malini and Esha Deol, has criticized the media for disseminating inaccurate information and has called for greater respect for the actor’s privacy. Additionally, Sunny Deol has indicated that he may pursue legal action against the media outlets responsible for the false reports.
Aaj Tak has publicly apologized, expressing regret for the mistake and confirming that they have taken disciplinary measures against those accountable.
