Srinagar, April 16 (Ozi news desk): According to officials, a tragic incident occurred on Tuesday when a boat capsized in the Jhelum river near the city outskirts, resulting in the drowning of four individuals. The incident took place in the Gandbal Nowgam area, and unfortunately, many others are still missing.
In response to the situation, a rescue operation has been initiated, and the State Disaster Response Force team has been deployed. As of now, four bodies have been recovered, but the search continues for the missing individuals. The recent heavy rainfall has caused water levels to rise in various water bodies, including the Jhelum river.
