On the other hand, the Sonepat parliamentary segment has the lowest number of voters in the state, with a total of 17.37 lakh voters. Interestingly, within the Gurugram district, the Badshahpur Assembly segment has the highest number of voters for any Assembly constituency, with a total of 4.62 lakh voters. In the National Capital Region (NCR), Faridabad ranks second in terms of voters’ enrolment, with 23.54 lakh voters. The Bhiwani-Mahendragarh parliamentary constituency has a significant count of 17.7 lakh voters, and Hisar rounds off the list with 17.63 lakh voters. Hemant Kumar, an advocate of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, has predicted that the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in April/May 2024 will witness a rise in the overall electorate. This is due to recent amendments in the Elections Laws (Amendment), Act, 2021, and Representation of the People’s Act, 1950, which permit the enrollment of new voters who turn 18 years old on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 of each year. With the inclusion of these new voters who will reach the age of 18 on April 1, 2024, the total electorate in Haryana is expected to increase.
