Thousands of tourists arrived in Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Christmas and New Year and the highest number of tourists arrived in Rohtang’s Atal Surang, Kullu and Lahaul and Spiti. An estimated 65,000 people crossed the tunnel in more than 12,000 vehicles on Sunday. Atal Tunnel, 9.2 km long, is the highest ‘single-tube’ tunnel in the world at an altitude of over 10,000 feet. There was heavy snowfall in Rohtang, due to which there was a rush of tourists here. Due to this, many places got jammed.
