New Delhi, 6 march 6 march (ozi news desk): The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has announced that wrestlers will be allowed to compete in the upcoming trials based on their original states. Additionally, wrestlers will now be permitted to participate in multiple categories over the course of two days.
The WFI has emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity of each wrestler’s state by requiring them to bring their WFI Licence Book, Birth Certificate, and Aadhar Card. The federation has expressed concern over wrestlers representing states other than their own, such as Haryana wrestlers competing for Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
As a result, the WFI will no longer allow this practice and will only accept wrestlers from their original states. However, genuine wrestlers from non-affiliated states like Arunachal Pradesh will still be allowed to participate as special invitees.
