Prime Minister Narendra Modi today discussed the ancient heritage and development works of Ayodhya and said that the combined strength of development and heritage will take India to the forefront in the 21st century. Addressing a rally here, Modi said that today the whole world is impatiently waiting for the historic moment of January 22 (prana pratishtha ceremony of the newly built Ram temple) and in such a situation it is natural for people to be excited. He appealed to the people not to come here on this day but come here later as per their convenience. He also appealed to the citizens to light lamps in their homes on this occasion.
Discussing his welcome and road show in Ayodhya, the Prime Minister said, ‘I am a priest of the soil of India and the people of India and I am also excited like you. This enthusiasm, this happiness of all of us was fully visible on the streets of Ayodhya.” After a few days, the superhumanity of heritage is going to be seen here. Modi emphasized that, ‘This is the joint power of development and heritage that will take India to the forefront in the 21st century.’
Counting the achievements of his government, he said, ‘There was a time when Ram-Lallah was sitting in a tent in Ayodhya. Today, not only Ram-Lalla but four crore poor people of the country have got a secure home. Referring to the Ujjwala Yojana, he said that the lives of crores of mothers and sisters of that country have changed. He said, ‘only 14 crore gas connections were given during five decades but his government has given 18 crore gas connections during its tenure of only one decade, out of which 10 crore connections have been given free under this scheme.’ Urging to conduct a cleanliness campaign from January 14 to 22, he said that a big cleanliness campaign should be conducted from the day of Sangranad of Maghi. Declaring December 30 as a historic date, he said that on this day in 1943, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose declared independence by hoisting the flag in Andaman and today on this occasion, he is advancing the concept of the golden age of freedom. He said, ‘Ayodhya city is getting new energy. We will proudly establish modern Ayodhya on the map of the country.” He said, “Any country in the world, if it wants to reach the height of development, it has to preserve its heritage.” He said, ” Our heritage inspires us. Shows us the way. That is why today’s India is moving forward by combining both antiquity and innovation.
