Patiala/Fatehgarh Sahib, February 27 (ozi nedws desk): Members of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) held a tractor march in Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib, where they parked their tractors along the highways. Farmers expressed their dissatisfaction with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) for its perceived “anti-farmer” policies and criticized the government’s failure to address their demands.

In Patiala, farmers parked their tractors on GT Road in Sirhind and the Sangrur highway, while raising slogans against the government. Krantikari Kisan Union district chief Harnek Singh Bhallamajra and Bhupinder Singh Jallah, district head of BKU Rajewal, accused the government of reneging on implementing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and accused it of working to eliminate farmers by aligning with WTO policies.

Additionally, members of BKU (Ugrahan) burnt an effigy of the WTO at Mehlan village and parked numerous tractors on the highway to urge the government to withdraw from the WTO for the betterment of farmers.
