The job security initiative by the Saini government does not excite contractual employees.

Chandigarh, August 9 (Ozi news desk):  The pre-election initiative by the Nayab Singh Saini administration, which promised job security to approximately 120,000 contractual employees, has not succeeded in generating enthusiasm among the workforce. Critics, including Subhash Lamba, president of the All India State Government Employees Federation, argue that this measure is merely a strategy to limit the number of regular appointments, as these contractual workers are filling positions that have been officially sanctioned. The disparity in pay between contractual and regular employees is significant, leading various state departments to favor hiring on a contractual basis as a means to reduce costs. Furthermore, the exclusion of contractual employees engaged in central projects, such as the National Health Mission (NHM) and the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), as well as those not covered by the state government’s outsourcing policy and the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL), is deemed unfair. Union leaders have pointed out that thousands of these workers have been advocating for the regularization of their employment for several years.
