Rajasthan BJP Poster, 02-02-23 (Press Key Strength Bureau): BJP National President JP Nadda (JP Nadda) arrived in Jaipur on January 23, 2023 for the core committee meeting. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajinder Rathore, former MPs Om Mathur and Narayan Pancharya and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat discussed a hoarding. It has a picture of BJP’s symbol Kamal along with a map of Rajasthan and the face of former CM Vasundhara Raje (Vasundhara Raje). The hoarding displayed a giant lotus surrounded by small and medium sized lotuses. When Rajinder Rathore saw this, he quipped with Gulab Chand Kataria, “There are 200 assembly seats in that Rajasthan map. There is a small lotus on our seats while there is a huge one in the middle. In response to which Kataria said that we have to understand why it is big. Pointing to Shekhawat, Rathore laughed and said, “Delhi is getting bigger these days, brother.” Often party posters and hoardings indicate which way the wind is blowing. Politicians often join in the fray to get their faces on posters. In the same context, a hoarding with a face outside BJP’s state office in Jaipur has been a topic of discussion for the past few days. The face belongs to former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, whose supporters have never complained about her intention to return to the state’s top post. However, the High Command had clear reluctance in this regard. Earlier outside the BJP office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda were hoarding in the left corner, while Gulab Chand Kataria and BJP state president Satish Punia were on the right. This hoarding did not feature Vasundhara Raje but now Kataria and Punia have Raje in size-matched images. Those close to Punia, who is one of Raje’s main opponents in the Rajasthan BJP, deny that the poster has any meaning. A supporter of Punia said, “A few months ago, posters of the Jan Akrosh Yatra also had her picture. So this is nothing new.” After Punia was appointed state BJP president in September 2019, Vasundhara Raje’s face disappeared from party hoardings outside the party office and in other parts of the state. “New people came in, they were given responsibilities but the party lost several by-elections under Punia,” said a supporter of Raje. Jan Aakrosh Yatra got overwhelming response and there are other issues like split within the party. The party is now saying you had your chance and now is the time to face the truth. A supporter of Vasundhara Raje said that it was she who gave BJP its first victory in 2003. The supporter said don’t go by the poster alone it doesn’t tell the whole story. He is present despite his absence on the posters.
