Chandigarh, January 25(Press Ki Taquat): The families of freedom fighters of Azad Hind Fauj met Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday. Governor Shri Dattatreya honoured 93-year-old Smt. Sita Devi and Shri Bhagwan Faugat with mementos. Among them were Smt. Sita Devi, wife of late Amarnath Sharma, Shri Bhagwan Faugat, son of late Ram Singh Phogat and General Secretary of Shri Rajesh Kartavyanishtha Sanstha Annu Pasricha and Ujjwal Sharma.
Governor Shri Dattatreya said that it is a matter of pride for the countrymen to remember the freedom fighters of the country as a mark of respect in the nectar period of independence. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has written a chapter in the country’s move away from slavery by renaming The Andaman and Nicobar Islands as Sudhas Chandra Bose. Similarly, 21 major unknown islands of Andaman and Nicobar have also been named after the army warriors. Now the birth anniversary of Netaji Sudhash Chandra Bose is also being celebrated as Parakram Diwas all over the country.
