शिरोमणि अकाली दल (संयुक्त) को चुनाव आयोग ने मान्यता दे दी है। आयोग की तरफ से शिअद संयुक्त को पंजाब चुनाव के लिए टेलीफोन चुनाव निशान आवंटित किया है। पार्टी प्रमुख पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री सुखदेव सिंह ढींढसा ने चुनाव निशान मिलने पर खुशी व्यक्त की और विज्ञान में टेलीफोन को सबसे शानदार खोज बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे भाईचारा बढ़ता है। ढींढसा इस बार भारतीय जनता पार्टी और कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह की पार्टी पंजाब लोक कांग्रेस के साथ मिलकर विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ रहे हैं।
