The Indian government has taken decisive action by banning 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including prominent outlets such as Dawn News, Samaa TV, Ary News, and Geo News. This measure was implemented due to these channels’ involvement in spreading provocative and communally sensitive content, as well as disseminating false narratives and misinformation aimed at undermining India’s reputation, its armed forces, and security agencies. The decision follows recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs, particularly in light of the tragic terror attack that occurred on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, predominantly tourists. In response to this incident, officials have noted that the National Investigation Agency has been actively gathering evidence at the attack site since April 23, while the Indian Army remains on high alert, conducting multiple search operations to locate and neutralize the terrorists responsible for this heinous act.
