Patiala, June 23 (ozi news desk): A large number of residents, traders, and shopkeepers from the neighboring villages gathered at the dharna site of the farmer unions in Shambhu today to express their dissatisfaction with the prolonged blockage of the national highway. This blockade has been causing significant financial losses and inconveniences for commuters for over four months. In response, the farmer unions have accused these individuals of being “BJP-sponsored agents” and claimed that many of them are associated with the mining mafia. The residents of the villages near Shambhu, who have been facing numerous inconveniences, had made a request last week for the farmer unions to vacate the national highway. Today, residents from nearby villages in Punjab and Haryana, along with shopkeepers from Ambala, arrived at Shambhu to engage in a heated argument with the farmer union members and leaders. Their attempts to persuade the farmers to end the dharna and reopen the highway were met with resistance.
