As per the directions of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi and Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali and under the able guidance of Ms Rupinderjit Chahal, Learned District & Sessions Judge- cum -Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, National Lok Adalat pertaining to Cheque Bounce Cases, Money Recovery cases, Labour and Employment disputes cases, Electricity, Water bills and other bill payment cases (excluding non-compoundable cases), Maintenance Cases, Other Criminal compoundable Cases and other Civil disputes and cases Pending in the Courts/ Tribunals like Criminal Compoundable Offences, Cheque Bounce Cases, Money Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Labour and Employment dispute cases, electricity, Water Bills and other bill payment cases (excluding non-compoundable cases), Matrimonial disputes(except divorce), Land Acquisition cases (Pending before civil courts/tribunals), Service matters relating to pay and allowances and retirement benefits, Revenue cases etc will be held in District Patiala on 14.12.2024. For this purpose, benches of Judicial Courts will be constituted at Patiala, Rajpura, Samana and Nabha.
In this connection, Ms. Manni Arora, CJM/Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, convened a meeting with panel advocates and legal aid defense counsels. The meeting focused on discussing cases to be presented before the National Lok Adalat. Panel advocates were asked to extensively publicize the National Lok Adalat in villages through seminars, media, and other channels to inform the general public and raise awareness. The objective is to maximize dispute settlements amicably and enable people to get benefits from the National Lok Adalat.
Additionally, it was emphasized that during these seminars, people should be educated about the various free legal services available, how to avail them and how to resolve their queries in this regard.
On this occasion, Ms Arora told that throughout the month, lots of seminars have already been organized by panel advocates and para legal volunteers in various villages, schools and colleges.
