State Election Commission, Punjab (SEC) has issued the schedule for the preparation of Electoral Rolls of 5 Municipal Corporations, wherein the General Elections are to be conducted.
A spokesperson said that as per notification no. 06/09/2023-5LG1/1015, dated 5th October, 2023 issued by the Department of Local Government, wherein the General Elections of five Municipal Corporations (Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Phagwara) are to be conducted, the Commission has drawn up the schedule for the preparation of Electoral Rolls as per latest wardbandi carried out by the Department of Local Government, which is announced as under:-
PROGRAMME FOR PREPARATION OF ELECTORAL ROLLS:
1. Preparation of Electoral Rolls upto: 19-10-2023
2. Draft publication of Electoral Rolls by: 21-10-2023
3. Last date for filing claims and Objections: 31-10-2023
4. Disposal of claims and objections by: 08-11-2023
5. Final publication of Electoral Roll on: 10-11-2023
He said that the general public falling under the jurisdiction of concerned Municipal Corporations is hereby informed that they can file claims and objections before the concerned ERO, within the time frame of the schedule.
