JNN, Moscow, 16-03-23(Press Ki Taquat): Russia on Wednesday said that it has started naval exercises with China and Iran in the Arabian Sea. Russia is trying to strengthen relations with China and Iran. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the trilateral exercise called ‘Maritime Security Belt 2023’ has started near the Iranian port of Chabahar. The naval portion of the exercise will take place on Thursday and Friday. Russia will be represented by frigate Admiral Gorshkov, the ministry said. During the naval exercise, the ships will conduct joint exercises and conduct artillery fire during the day and night, the statement said. President Vladimir Putin has sought to boost political, economic and military ties with China and Iran since sending troops into Ukraine a year ago, triggering several rounds of Western sanctions.
