The squad consists of two wrist spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, along with all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, who provide left-arm spin options. Rohit stated that the decision to include four spinners was based on various factors, including the technical aspects of playing in the morning and the need for balance and attacking options. He also mentioned that the team focused on the middle overs hitting while considering the composition of the opposition and the nature of the pitches.
