Chandigarh, February 20:

In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at supporting the aspirations of students passing out from the government schools in Punjab, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has rolled out a unique initiative to reach out the Class 12 students with simple yet powerful questions about their future plans aiming at understanding and nurturing their dreams.

Divulging the details, Punjab School Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains stated that the department has distributed a Google Form to all the students appearing for the 12th-grade board examinations.

The form, accompanied by a heartfelt message from Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, invites students to share their immediate plans and long-term goals—be it higher education, entrepreneurship, or competitive exams, S. Harjot Singh Bains said, while adding that the data collected will enable the state government to develop suitable support mechanisms to assist students in their academic and professional endeavours.

“This approach will allow the state government to bridge the gap between students’ ambitions and the necessary assistance to help them achieve their objectives,” said Mr Bains.

The School Education Minister mentioned that school heads have already been instructed to ensure that all students personally fill the aspiration form and provide necessary assistance to the students to complete this form. The District Education Officers (Secondary) will act as Nodal Officers to oversee this initiative. At the block level, Block Nodal Officers (BNO) will be responsible for close monitoring. Additionally, headquarters officials will provide backend support by maintaining a live dashboard that tracks the percentage of forms filled in each district.

He said that the Chief Minister’s message has already been shared with all the students appearing for the 12th class exams. In the letter, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has not only extended his heartfelt best wishes to each student but also emphasised the importance of mental well-being during this crucial time. He provides valuable guidance on managing exam-related stress, encouraging students to adopt effective coping strategies.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting students not just academically, but also emotionally, ensuring they are well-equipped to face the future challenges, he added.
