Chandigarh, June 26:
In view of Bye Poll in Jalandhar West, the Punjab Government declared paid holiday to the voters of Jalandhar West constituency who are employees working in the Shops & Commercial establishments and for workers working in the factories situated in the State of Punjab on 10 july 2024 (wednesday).
Informing about this here, an Official Spokesperson said that Department of Personnel has issued two various notifications in this regard. According these notifications, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to declare Wednesday, falling on 10-07-2024 to be Closed day for voters of 34 – Jalandhar West (SC) Assembly Constituency working in Shops and Commercial establishments located in the State of Punjab in lieu of Closed day falling on any day between 07-07-2024 and 13-07-2024.
He further said according to other notification, the Governor of Punjab has exempted all the voters of 34 – Jalandhar West (SC) Assembly Constituency working in registered factories situated in the State of Punjab wherein 10th July, 2024 is not a Closed day, from the operation for the operation on 10 july 2024.
