CM directs the transport department to chalk out a blueprint for implementation of the decision
Also discussed to start a special bus service for religious places

With an aim to resume minibus service in rural areas of Punjab, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday directed the transport department officials to chalk out a plan and conduct a survey for the smooth implementation of this decision.
Chairing a high-level meeting with transport department officials at his office here, the Chief Minister said that the Punjab government has decided to resume the minibus service in rural areas aiming to facilitate people as well as provide employment to youth by giving them bus permits for operation of buses. Bhagwant Singh Mann directed the transport department officials to prepare a complete blueprint of the plan and conduct a survey across Punjab in this regard to ensure identification of possible routes for implementation of this decision at the earliest.
Terming the minibus service as a boon for the common man, the Chief Minister said while the scheme would help streamline the transport facilities, it would provide employment opportunities to the educated unemployed youth and enable them to start the bus service by obtaining permits. He asked the officials to prepare a detailed plan and conduct a survey across Punjab to ensure identification of possible routes.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also discussed with transport department officials the launch of a special bus service to religious places to facilitate pilgrims. He said that a large number of devotees come to visit religious places in Punjab and they have to face difficulties due to lack of proper transportation arrangements. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone will be left unturned to address the grievances of the devotees.
