Chandigarh (Press Ki Taquat Bureau) Punjab School education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Saturday, said that the education department has opened the online portal today to receive transfer applications of teachers, computer teachers, education providers and volunteers under notified teacher transfer policy-2019. The cabinet minister said that the online portal will remain open till February 13 for the transfers which would be applicable from April 10, 2021 or starting of the next academic session, 2021-22. He added that till date as many as 7,300 teachers have already availed the benefits of online transfer policy.

While divulging details, Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that during session 2020-21, the transfers of the teachers did not take place due to closure of schools in view of Covid-19 pandemic. He added that the teachers who had already applied in session 2020-21, need not to apply again but if they want to rectify any data, they would be allowed to do so. He said that now for the session 2021-22, apart from regular teachers, computer teachers, education providers, EGS Volunteers, STR and AITs have also been made eligible to apply online for the transfers.

Mr. Singla said that this year, teachers working in the border areas will also be getting benefits of transfers as fresh recruitments have been done by the government especially for the border areas. It is pertinent to mention that under the online transfer policy, transfers of the teachers will be done on the merit basis which will be prepared on the basis of marks which will be given for efficiency, co-curricular activities and works done for the transformation of the respective school by the teacher.
