A day after gunfire erupted at the residence of Punjabi music producer Pushpinder Dhaliwal, known as Pinky Dhaliwal, in Sector 71, local police announced they have identified two suspects who were seen fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Mohali SP (City) Sirivennela informed the media that the assailants, who were riding a bike with a Uttar Pradesh registration plate, discharged approximately eight rounds before leaving behind a threatening letter. This letter, allegedly linked to the incarcerated gangster Kala Rana from Yamunanagar, did not demand any ransom, according to police sources. Investigators are also looking into a potential personal vendetta and extortion motives, as Dhaliwal had reportedly received threats in the past. Senior police officials, including Mohali SSP Harmandeep Hans and members of the CIA Staff, conducted an inspection of the crime scene around 1 AM but did not provide any statements to the press. Meanwhile, Dhaliwal’s family has chosen to remain silent regarding the incident. The aftermath of the shooting left several windowpanes shattered and visible bullet marks on the walls of the corner house, while sources indicated that Dhaliwal was out of the country at the time of the attack. Police have collected empty shell casings from the street in front of the property and confirmed that the suspects were captured on CCTV footage, with efforts underway to track their movements, which have been traced to Zirakpur.
