Patiala December 6:

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today chaired a meeting of District Task Force for Pulse Polio Immunization here at the DC office complex.
During the meeting a detailed presentation on Pulse Polio Immunization program was presented. The program is scheduled on 10 to 12 December during which pulse polio drops will be administered to children in the 0-5 year age group.
A total of 180402 children below the age of 5 year would be administered polio vaccine in the district.
The Civil Surgeon Dr. Raminder Kaur informed the meeting that 921 vaccination booths have been set up in the district. She further informed that 3521 workers and 193 supervisors have been deputed for ensuring absolute coverage.
Apart from all the hospitals in the district, the vaccine will be made available at primary health centres, Anganwari and sub-centres.After administering the vaccine, a small mark will be made on the finger of the child using a marker pen.
District Immunization Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur said that on the first day, children will be administered vaccination at booth level and on the second and third day door to door vaccination drives shall be conducted to cover the left out children of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed to conduct the drive in all the subdivisions of the district. She asked the concerned officers from the Health Department to work in a mission mode to ensure the 100% coverage of the children.
