This declaration was made by Pakistan’s ambassador, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, during an interview with Russia’s state-run TASS news agency amidst escalating tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily tourists. Jamali emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to counter any form of aggression, asserting that the nation would not hesitate to utilize both conventional and nuclear means if necessary. The ambassador also addressed the recent suspension of the Indus Water Treaty by India, a significant agreement governing water rights between the two countries, warning that any attempt to manipulate or obstruct the water flow would be perceived as an act of war, warranting a robust response from Pakistan. Despite the gravity of the situation, Jamali called for de-escalation, highlighting the inherent risks associated with both nations being nuclear powers.
