The local administration of Ayodhya has asked hoteliers to cancel bookings for general public from January 20 to 23 and reserve rooms for VVIPs and special invitees visiting Ayodhya for the special idol installation ceremony on January 22. Meanwhile, the government has made strict security arrangements for high-profile people. A senior official of the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, on condition of anonymity, said that although no order has been given to cancel bookings, the general public cannot go out from January 20 to 24. The official said, “Anyway, no one can leave the hotel. What is the meaning of booking and staying inside the walls? The security will be very tight and the movement of common people will be heavily restricted during these days.” Meanwhile, the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has arranged special accommodation for the pilgrims on January 22 in various dharamshalas and hotels.
