Chandigarh, February 8 (Sumit Joshi) : The final results of the Delhi elections, scheduled to be announced on Saturday, will determine whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) can maintain its longstanding supremacy or if a significant shift in power dynamics will occur. As the vote counting began at 8 am across all 70 Assembly constituencies, early trends indicated a lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), prompting Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to comment on the situation. In a somewhat enigmatic tweet, Abdullah urged, “Aur lado aapas mein!!!”, and accompanied his message with a meme on X that stated, “samapt kar do ek dusere ko.” Various exit polls have suggested that the BJP may secure a substantial victory, projecting them to win between 45 to 55 of the 70 available seats, while the AAP, which has been in power since 2015, is anticipated to face significant setbacks. In contrast, the Congress party, which has been striving to regain its footing after failing to win any seats in the previous two elections, is expected to secure only a single seat in this electoral contest.
