-Settled amount in the industrial dispute cases of Patiala in the National Lok Adalat came out to be Rs.21,04642
Today on 09-12-2023 in National Lok Adalat held before Industrial Tribunal, Patiala presided by Dr. Tejwinder Singh, District & Sessions Judge, which was assisted by members Sh. D.K. Chauhan Advocate and Sh. Sham Lal Jindal dealt with several application and references filed under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, in National Lok Adalat.
The references had been received from the appropriate authority i.e. Assistant Labour Commissioner, Patiala and Assistant Labour Commissioner, Sangrur for decision. With great efforts total 104 cases have been disposed of today in the National Lok Adalat by this bench. Workers were quite happy as their matter has been settled amicably and they have received due compensation. Total settled amount in the industrial dispute cases of Patiala in the National Lok Adalat came out to be Rs.21,04642/-. Both the parties i.e. workers and managements were quite satisfied.
These settlements go a long way as now both the parties are relieved from contesting further litigation which often is otherwise, pursued by aggrieved party through appeals before the higher authority, after decision of any contested case. The matters decided in the National Lok Adalat are settled once for all saving not only the time of the parties, but also saving the time of the higher Courts which often have to decide further litigation in the form of appeals when the contested cases are decided, on merits. It would be worthwhile to mention here that today more than 10% of the total pending cases before Industrial Tribunal, Patiala have been disposed of amicably through settlement between the parties, in this National Lok Adalat.
