Vehicular and rail services in Mumbai resumed operations on Thursday, following a day of intense rainfall that severely impacted the city. The heavy downpour led to the flooding of low-lying areas, disrupted local train services, and necessitated the diversion of at least 14 flights arriving in the city. Tragically, a 45-year-old woman lost her life after drowning in an overflowing drain in the suburban area of Andheri, as reported by the police. By Thursday morning, the rain had subsided in most regions of the city, although the skies remained overcast. Local trains, which are vital to the daily commute of many Mumbaikars, were operating normally, albeit with some minor delays, according to official sources. Additionally, buses operated by the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) began their services early in the morning, contributing to the restoration of normalcy in public transportation.
