This transformative program mandates source segregation of waste into wet, dry, and hazardous streams right from households and offices, drastically reducing mixed waste accumulation, accelerating processing, and scientifically linking collection to Resource Management Centres (RMCs) and advanced plants like the 150-tonne facility at Jagatpura. By curbing garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) and integrating mechanical road sweeping with private contractors’ specialized vehicles, the drive ensures faster, cleaner waste management while fully complying with National Green Tribunal (NGT) and Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) directives on scientific disposal under Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.
