The Office of Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Punjab Telecom Circle, Chandigarh, field office in the State of Punjab under the Government of Indias’ Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, organized a Pensioners’ Welfare Camp. As a part of “Nation-wide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 4.0, Nov., 1-30, 2025 this Camp was dedicated to the well-being and convenience of pensioners. The Camp aimed to facilitate Life Certificate updation, promote health awareness, and enhance understanding of cyber security and banking-related issues among pensioners.
Sh. V N Tandon, Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Punjab, inaugurated and Chaired the Camp at Patiala. In the inaugural address, CCA, Punjab, assured the pensioners that such outreach and service camps are being organised and will be organised on a regular basis to ensure the availability of Departmental services at the doorstep of pensioners, thereby enhancing their ease, comfort, and welfare.
To assist pensioners in generating and submitting their Digital Life Certificates (Jeevan Pramaan), a special counter was set up, ensuring ease and facilitating the pensioners to file DLC. Also speaking during the Camp, Dr. Mandeep Singh the Joint CCA reiterated that office of CCA is committed to serve its stakeholders and provide services in a committed manner.
In collaboration with the Park Hospital, Patiala, a Health Check-up Camp was also organized as part of the welfare initiative for the pensioners. Famous Cardiologist Dr. Harsimran Singh encouraged senior citizens to care for their hearts with simple, steady habits. Eating balanced meals—rich in fruits, vegetables, and light, wholesome foods—along with gentle daily activity like walking or stretching, which will greatly strengthen heart health. The Cardiologist said that even small, consistent steps would help improve energy, mobility, and overall well-being. The Doctor advised that everyone should have routine checkups done on regular basis. The Park Hospital presented a detailed lecture on healthy diet habits and wellness advice to the senior citizens and also offered basic medical screening, health consultations. A special Yoga Session and lecture was also conducted for the pensioners in which a Yoga session was held by Yoga Specialist
The Punjab Police Cyber Cell at Patiala was also roped in to provide awareness to the Pensioners about the rising online frauds and scams targeting elderly citizens. SHO Tarndeep Kaur, Cyber Cell conducted a Cyber Security Awareness Session, sensitizing participants about safe digital Banking practices, secure use of mobile banking, and prevention of cyber frauds. Demonstrating its dedication to environmental sustainability, the office has undertaken initiatives to spread green awareness and distribute plant saplings among pensioners and stakeholders, inspiring collective action towards a healthier and greener future.
The DLC and the Awareness Camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from pensioners. The leaders of various Pensioners’ Association of BSNL Retirees were also present. Sh. G.S. Bajwa, President of BSNL pensioners’ Association and his associates presented applauded the services of the CCA office. The CCA Office reiterated its commitment to ensuring pensioners’ welfare, convenience, and digital empowerment through such outreach programs.
