Chateauroux (France), July 29 (Ozi news desk): Manu Bhaker, a confident athlete, positioned herself as a strong contender for a second Olympic medal by teaming up with Sarabjot Singh to secure a spot in the bronze playoff of the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Unfortunately, Arjun Babuta faced pressure and fell short, finishing fourth in the men’s 10m air rifle competition.
In the women’s 10m air rifle final, Ramita Jindal claimed the seventh spot, while Babuta’s performance in the air rifle individual final resulted in a total score of 208.4.
Babuta’s last shot of 9.5, compared to Croatian Miran Maricic’s impressive 10.7, dashed his hopes of clinching a podium finish. Prior to this, Bhaker and Sarabjot’s combined efforts earned them a total score of 580 in the mixed team qualifications, securing their place in the medal round scheduled for Tuesday.
