Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the party will form party units in all states with Sikh population. He made this announcement after a meeting with the Sikh Sangat of Sri Patna Sahib and Mumbai at the residence of party’s Delhi Unit President Paramjit Singh Sarna. Meanwhile, Jago Party President Manjit Singh GK joined Shiromani Akali Dal along with his partner and member of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Paramjit Singh Rana.
Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal today arrived in Delhi at the residence of Manjit Singh GK along with local unit president of Akali Dal and other senior leadership. It may be mentioned that the Sangat of Delhi did not give much response to the Jago Party and only three members of the Delhi Committee could be won by the party. Badal said that a committee of Akali Dal will go to Sri Patna Sahib on December 30 regarding the formation of the party unit. The committee will not only hold meetings with the local Sikh community there but will also make necessary arrangements to set up the unit. He said that after Patna Sahib, the committee will go to other states as per demand. This is being done for the purpose of achieving sectarian unity in the Sikh community.
