MINISTER ASSURED TO RESOLVE LEGITIMATE DEMAND OF UNIONS
Chandigarh, Jan 16:
Local Government Minister Balkar Singh held a meeting today at Municipal Bhawan, Sector-35 Chandigarh with the representatives of Safai Sewak and Municipal Work Unions regarding their demands. The meeting was held in the presence of Director, Local Government, Deputy Director, Local Government and Deputy Controller, Local Government.
Giving information in this regard, Local Government Minister Balkar Singh said that maintaining cleanliness in the state is an important task, In which Safai Sewak/sewer men working under Urban Local bodies are playing an pivtol role. The representative of the unions assured that all possible efforts will be made to bring Punjab State to the first Position in the future ‘Swachh sarvekshan abhiyaan’.
The various demands of the unions were discussed in detail in the meeting and after listening the representatives of the unions; the Minister assured that whatever their legitimate demands would be resolved at the level of the local government department. Appropriate action will be taken as soon as possible regarding these demands.
