Appointment letters handed over to 9 youths for various positions in the water supply department

Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shankar Gimpa held a meeting with the officials at the head office of the Water Supply Department here today and reviewed the ongoing schemes of the department and gave necessary instructions to the officials to complete the work on time. On this occasion, he said that under the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the department should work with full capacity to ensure that every person gets the benefit of basic facilities. Water Supply and Sanitation Department Principal Secretary DK Tiwari and Department Head Mohammad Ishfaq were also present in the meeting.
Gimpa directed that undue delay and negligence in work will not be tolerated. Taking stock of the progress of the work from the head and superintendent of each branch of the department, he said that the water supply department has a direct relationship with the people and this work of public service should be prioritized.
He said that full transparency and vigilance should be used while preparing any new project so that unnecessary difficulties are not faced for the implementation of the project. During the meeting, he also took suggestions from the staff to bring more transparency in the work and instructed to do the file work through e-office to speed up the work. He said that a review meeting of the work done will be held every week.
Meanwhile, Gimpa also gave instructions for the promotion of officials and employees in the department and for immediate settlement of pension cases. The Minister of Water Supply said that the whole roster of the ‘Water Testing Laboratory’ run by the department for taking water samples should be prepared and water samples should be taken in the villages so that people can be protected from water-borne diseases. .
Earlier, GIMPA handed over appointment letters to 5 clerks, 1 junior assistant and 3 junior technicians in the water supply department. On this occasion, he said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to provide maximum job opportunities to the youth of the state. He said that so far more than 30 thousand youths of the state have been provided government jobs. On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Media Director Baltej Pannu, Rajesh Kumar Khosla, Jaswinder Singh Chahal, Jasbir Singh and other staff of the department were present.
