Dubai, June 26 (Ozi news desk): Travis Head, the Australian opener, has dethroned India’s Suryakumar Yadav to become the new number one batter in the latest ICC T20 rankings. Suryakumar had held the top spot since December 2023, but Head’s exceptional performance in the T20 World Cup propelled him to the top, despite his team being knocked out of the tournament.
With 844 points, Head is currently two points ahead of Suryakumar, who has now slipped to the second position. However, Suryakumar still has a chance to reclaim the coveted top spot as India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup is still ongoing.
In a notable development, West Indies’ Johnson Charles has entered the top 10, climbing four spots, while Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz has moved up five spots to secure a place just below Charles.
