Jalandhar, July 9 (Ozi news desk): The upcoming bypoll for the Jalandhar West assembly constituency in Punjab is being closely watched as a crucial test for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who is striving for a victory following the setback his party faced in the Lok Sabha elections.
This electoral battle is shaping up to be a fierce contest, with the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, and BJP all competing vigorously in this reserved constituency. The seat became vacant when Sheetal Angural resigned as an AAP legislator.
A total of fifteen candidates are contesting in the by-election, with 1.72 lakh eligible voters set to cast their votes. The results will be announced on July 13. The ruling AAP has nominated Mohinder Bhagat, the son of former minister and ex-BJP MLA Bhagat Chunni Lal, for this crucial election.
