Jalandhar, 10-05-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)– The Lok Sabha by-election in Jalandhar has started at 8 am, which will continue till 6 pm. A total of 19 candidates are trying their luck in the election field. Whose future will be decided by a total of 16,21,800 voters of the Lok Sabha constituency. The Election Commission has set up 1972 booths in 9 assembly constituencies of the district. Where voters will cast their vote.

During the election process in Rupewal village of Shahkot, there was a huge commotion when AAP MLA Dalbir Singh Toung of Halka Baba Bakala, who was roaming in the village, was surrounded by Shahkot MLA Hardev Singh Ladi Sherowalia and handed over to the police.

According to the voter list released by the Election Commission, there are 8,44,904 male voters and 7,76,855 female voters in the district. Apart from this, there are 41 third gender voters.

The district administration has also set up model polling stations for women only in 9 assembly constituencies of the district. Apart from this, a special booth has been set up at Pingalwara located on Gulab Devi Road
